Throughout the summer and in reality for the next several years, there are going to be street closures throughout downtown. Might as well get used to it . . . with several commercial and residential buildings under construction and more in design review, along with preparation and construction for light rail, temporary closures will be more frequent throughout the central business district. Bellevue is growing and its tough to grow without some inconvenience.
Beginning June 13th, all lanes of 110th Avenue NE between NE 4 and NE 6th Streets, and sidewalks, will be closed, in both directions, for approximately five weeks. This closure is necessary to permit Sound Transit’s contractor to prepare the soil underneath the roadway for tunneling for light rail. If construction work is on schedule, in late July the western most lane will be reopened to southbound traffic permitting entry to the City Center Plaza and Skyline Tower garages. The Bellevue Transit Center will remain open during this time.
